Executive Summary

In collaboration with the Global Fund for Children (GFC), this program aims to tackle the systemic challenges faced by low-income communities in Shyamnagor, Satkhira.the project focuses on identifying the root causes of local issues and fostering sustainable solutions driven by the community members themselves. The core of this initiative is built upon two transformative methodologies: SALT and the Community Life Competence Process (CLCP).

Core Methodologies

To ensure the community takes ownership of its growth, we utilize a “Strength-Based Approach” rather than a “Needs-Based Approach.”

  • SALT (Stimulate, Appreciate, Learn, Transfer):

    • Stimulate: We spark conversations to help the community realize their own potential.

    • Appreciate: We focus on existing strengths and local resources rather than just the problems.

    • Learn: We listen to their stories to understand the underlying issues.

    • Transfer: We facilitate the sharing of knowledge and successful practices from one community to another.

CLCP (Community Life Competence Process):

This is a self-assessment framework where the community goes through a continuous cycle of self-reflection, planning, action, and learning. It empowers residents to move from a state of vulnerability to a state of resilience and competence.

Expected Outcomes

  • Shift in Mindset: Communities move from being passive recipients of aid to active drivers of change.

  • Sustainable Problem Solving: Because the solutions are designed locally, they are more likely to last after the project cycle ends.

  • Strengthened Social Fabric: Increased cooperation and collective action among low-income households.

  • Root Cause Mitigation: Direct impact on issues like healthcare access, education gaps, or economic instability.

"We believe that the community already has the answers; our role is simply to provide the framework (SALT & CLCP) to help them unlock those answers."
