"Housing is a fundamental human right, not a commodity."

Since 2009, DHARA has been implementing an Adequate Housing Program in Jashore District to improve living conditions for poor and vulnerable families. The program focuses on providing safe, durable, and dignified housing, especially for households affected by poverty and environmental risks.

To date, DHARA has successfully completed a total of 380 housing units in different communities of Jashore District. These include a combination of one-storied and two-storied buildings, as well as semi-permanent and permanent structures, depending on the needs, land conditions, and economic capacity of beneficiary families. The housing designs prioritize safety, ventilation, sanitation, and resilience, ensuring healthier living environments for women, children, and the elderly.

In addition to physical construction, DHARA works closely with communities to ensure proper use, maintenance, and ownership of the houses, promoting long-term sustainability. Through this program, DHARA not only provides shelter but also contributes to improved health, security, and social stability, enabling families to live with dignity and focus on education, livelihoods, and overall well-being
